Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen

I have been flat out turning pens, so thought a break was in order.

Turned and carved a Jarrah seed pod.

First off, turned and hollowed the basic shape.

Sanded to 600 grit, then cut the wings to shape with a coping saw.

Sealed the outside with Sanding sealer.

Carved away the recess (x4) along the body of the pod with a Arbortech Mini carver, then did the stipling with the Dremel in the carved areas.

Lastly, ebonised the carved/stippled area and inside the pod. I kept the inside of the pod rough deliberately to mimic how I thought Nature would do it

Cheers
Willy

RETIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish.

I don't watch much TV, and even less now that the Rugby League World Cup has just ended and the cup has been returned to the rightful owners.

Dimensions, aproximately 90mm x60mm
