Some pink ivory

I generally just lurk a bit here and there, but decided to post these saws as I had a few customers down this way. Definitely a very hard wood and chips easily. It was my first experience with this wood. If the handles look small it is because they are child size/ small adult. Critiques are always welcome. Dovetail--10" x 2" x 0.020"canted, relaxed rip at 17ppi, 3* fleam and 10* rake. ( relaxed a bit for a child ) hang is 45*. Open carcass--12" x 2.5 x 0.020" canted. x cut at 14ppi,15* rake, 25* fleam, 32* approx. hang. Closed carcass- 12" x 3"x 0.025" canted. ( hybrid) 12ppi, 13* rake, 10* fleam. Same hang as open carcass.

Oh my goodness Ron. That is most impressive. Pink Ivory handles. Matching set of 3 backsaws too. The overall presentation with your saws speaks volumes to your talent as a saw maker Ron.

Really loving the closed carcass, the lines are superb. It has a very streamlined, fast look to it. That is one very lucky child with better saws than most adults.

Ron, what are you doing to get such a high finish on the tote? If you care to share, and it isn't a trade secret.

Nope, no trade secrets here. The finish on the totes is just 3 coats of Arm-R-Seal ( General finishes ) sold by Woodcraft. It is a semi gloss but it gets a little more glossy with depth. The rainy weather made them look a little more shiny than they actually are. True Oil / tung oil works well also.

The lower stretch on the enclosed handle reaaaly looks like a "tongue" to me ... I keep expecting it to move! :U

Yes that's it. Only mine was about 36" long and had more defects.
