Hello Guys,
I made a nutcracker soldier for my mom for Xmas. Here are a couple of shots. I am in the process of painting it right now. I will update when I get it finished.
Body measured out.

Come on Arthur.... Call by there proper name - Queensland Nuts!!!
When we were kids at my grandparents place at Redcliffe we either used a hammer or the bench vice to crack them open....
Many a sore thumb and many squashed ones in the vice....

If he was made from hardwood he might. But he is all pine so I wouldn't try cracking any nuts.
He is getting some paint and hair.

Nice one Bret. It looks great. :2tsup:
Any bigger and you could crack Bunya Nuts with it. :D
I noticed that you titled it 'Mark I' - can I assume there's a Mark II on the way?

He is 26 inches tall. I free handed all the painting. The photos make him look better than he does.

Wow, that came up really well, Bret, with the paint and other details. Nice work. It looks fantastic. :2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:
I'm looking forward to Mk II.
Been doing a bit of turning myself, but nothing exciting, only a couple of tea-light candle holders for more practice.
