Silky Oak bowl

Here's an order I made for a Christmas gift.

Finished with Shellawax Glow. I felt that the dimensions were a bit chunky at the time, but the more I look at the pics, I like it.

I tried to get the diameter of the top and the base (and therefore the walls) to exactly match the whole way.

Idon't quite know whether I like the bowl. Perhaps it will grow on me.

Ilike the shape. I just think it is a little chunky!!

I know what you mean. I felt that it was too chunky also. But I made it around Christmas time and have had some time to get used to the shape - from photos anyway. The bowl was posted the day after I finished it.

Make a matching pestle and it's not too thick-walled - looks a lot like a mortar.
Love the colour, too. It came up well.
