Hey there,

I live in Perth and would like to learn to turn wood. I have a couple of projects in mind but don't have the room or money for my own lathe so is there anyone one out there that could tutor me and help with my projects. I'm aware of the wood turning clubs in Perth although I'd prefer private tuition.

Cheers

Have you considered a Mens Shed?

Good call! I just rang a few of them in the area and may be just what I'm seeking. Cheers

I'd recommend a turning club in lieu of a Men's Shed. Men's Sheds often have turners, but not always good ones :-, nor good lathes.

I highly recommend you google Woodturners Association of WA (or click on this http://woodturnerswa.com/). I am at Wandi club, a fantastclub. Further, I might suggest you give a little more info, are you a pen turner, 3 meter platters, where are you located?

The Wandi club has hands on learning nights and days, heres a cut and paste
