G'day from the Midwest of the USA!

My hubby is getting into woodturning (because his wonderful <G> wife bought and put together by herself a wood lathe for his birthday last year!). I would like to obtain some unique, exotic woods for him and in several magazines have noted Australian woods.

I have a friend who lives in Brisbane and will be coming to the states at the end of this month who would be happy to secure a few pieces for me if he only knew where to look! http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/smile.gif

Any suggestions on Australian woods you would recommend for a woodturner, just a bit above a novice, and where to obtain these woods would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Victoria

Hi Victoria
your friend in Brisbane could try LAZARIDES TIMBER AGENCIES , 1/1089 KINGSFORD SMITH DRIVE , EAGLE FARM , BRISBANE 4009. They have a good range of Australian native timber both big pieces and small. Hope this helps Good Luck
