Hey,

Can someone tell me ( and explain http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/biggrin.gif ) the different grades of R.pine? From memory theres about 4 different grades?? Buggered if I know http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/smile.gif

I just usually use Clear r.pine when a customer wants something made from pine, but clear pine is still rather expensive and this particular client wants to save money. So I am going to price the job using a lower grade pine, only problem will be the knots...

Your help will be appreciated, oh and it will also make it sound like I know what I am talking about when I ring the timber yard http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/wink.gif

Cheers

Shane!!!!!

Hi Shane
As no one else has replied, the place I buy from has constructor grade (used to be merchant grade), select grade, furniture grade and clear. I'm pretty sure thats how it goes here. Hope this helps.

PS Thats right they also stock what they call french pine, which is pinus radiata from Tassie, more expensive again.

Some also stock NZ Clear. Supposedly clear furniture grade pinus radiata from New Zealand. Depending on where you buy.
