Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen
Please find attached three photos of a recent turning. It is a very large 500mm Wandoo Burl Platter, made from concrete and steel. I reckon I lost 3 inches off my bowl gauge turning this platter. I was given the blank by an old mate at the club who reckons it was too big and heavy for him nowadays, and wanted it to go to a good home. Trusted with this knowledge, I was keen to do it, and him justice. I am very happy with it. I haven't weighed it, but it is Bloody Heavy and hard!
I have been asked to provide some items for the Perth Wood Show, and am very happy to offer this one up for viewing

Cheers
Sincerely
Willy

Hey Willy,

Looks nice, that Wandoo is called Wandon't in my shed, as I said once before, we did in a Chainsaw Chain trimming one at work.
looks like a few bits missing round the edges, did it hit some Carbide bits ?? ;-)

Where are you displaying at the Show, WAWA ??

Scored two large, dry wandoo burls recently - was thinking I should get into them soon - might have to start on something softer to warm up. Something soft like salmon gum or gimlet burls!
