I had some NZ Kauri Pine left over from another project that had been completed quite some time ago. Now I was sort of between projects so I thought I would make a very quick paper towel holder.

As you can see the design is very simple and very little could go wrong.
Well I managed to stuff it up. :doh:
I started with the base and of course this was way too small for your normal paper towel. I pull out another piece of NZ Kauri Pine with the base a little bit wider. I then turned the shaft and attached this to the base with the created tenon.
Now I thought what am I going to do with the second base. Made another shaft and this became a toilet roll holder. :;

So what started out to be a quick project while waiting for finish to dry ended up as a project in itself. At least I got some practice on the skew.
