T.H. Witherby Warranted

Recently I went to an auction and bought a lot of chisels. A few of them are broken and say "T.H. Witherby Warrented." I was looking online to see if I could find anything out about this warrenty but I had no luck. Does anybody know anything about this warrenty, or about the company T.H. Witherby? I have chisels made by Witherby as well........I don't know their history......I do know that their sharpened edges (on the ones I have at least) hold up quite well......but, I understand your curiosity...It would be interesting to find out more about the brand ?
