Variable Speed for Nova 1624 Lathe

I am considering a workshop "rationalisation" (not a clean-out, well not yet) perhaps selling my mini lathe and the nova 1624 and replacing them with only the one lathe, which I have not decided on the make/type yet, maybe a Woodfast VS midi.
However, before I take this drastic step I was wondering if the CMG Speedmaster Integral Motor bolt on option is still available in Victoria or something similar. I know Jim Carroll used to stock/procure them but no longer for some time.

Any clues???

The cmg one we used to get was set up for woodturners and the flange required suited the older style nova lathes.

The 1624 has a different flange and the motor is not being able to be supplied anymore due to low sales.

The motor show there is suitable for augers etc not wood lathes, completely different torque settings

Yes Jim! my research today confirms what you are saying, so it virtually makes my mind up for me, I just cannot be bothered with cobbling other alternatives together, so it is to the Market Place I go! :2tsup:

I upgraded my Nova 1624 with a VFD and 3 phase motor.
My Nova had an Imperial size flange mount and a metric (22mm) shaft. The motor I bought was all imperial - the pulley had to be bored out by .225mm (7/8 shaft = 22.225mm).
Was certainly worth the trouble and a lot less costly.

I have now taken the decision to sell the lathe in the Market Place with all is kit and also sell another lathe later on then upgrade to a VS lathe. I haven't decided which type or model yet.
