Today I spent some time on the lathe instead of going to church... :oo:. This little acorn was made from a piece of pink gidgee. It is 35mm diameter and 55mm long overall. This piece was very hard but took a very nice thread. Making these acorns is an excellent way to use some of those nice pieces too good to burn.

As usual C and C welcome.

I reckon you might just have that hand thread chasing down pat. I was good to learn how from you but I still have to get my act together, and make a few.

Hi George, the threading is done with hand held thread chasing tools. Lathe speed is reduced to about 350 rpm.

Very nice indeed a great way to put to use all those special off cuts and produce a wonderful little box with it. All I need to do is learn to chase those threads.
Regards Rod.
