Hi guys,
Got a bit of shed time this afternoon (finally ):C
A while ago i watched a jimmy clewes , u-tube video
So today i gave it try , not sure jimmy would be impressed
but anyway i thought i would put it out there anyway:o:o
made from jacaranda , about 300mm x 75mm, coloured
with spirit stain, black and red , finished with eee and
glow , any comments and advice welcome :U

Looks good there smife. Came up well, be a bit cool your way for too much shed time of late. Been cool enough here as well but nothing like you guys have copped.

Yeah ..It, s been a bit chilly,, I think we had a high of 4º last weekend
turn out nice today .... (sorry for the pun):o

Agree with Dave ... Low profile and thin .. Looks very elegant. Stain a nice contrast too ! Excellent !

That is very nice work. Something to be proud of. How did you get the lathe upside down? I thought I was the master of upside down photos!

Very well turned and finished. I like this type of shape nice flowing lines. Keep on playing it is great fun

I reckon he bolted it to the ceiling or used an American camera (made for noethern hemisphere )

Yeah, it, s the first time I have used spirit stain on a platter
I put the black on first , and then the red and sanded back
to 800 grit

I am happy with the way It turned out, first time I have tried
this method of turning and colouring, I turned the I-pad
upside down , cos the flap thing kept getting in the way
so thats how to do upside down photos,,,,,,, whats your
excuse.......:C
