I was using my VL240 yesterday , which is about one month out of warranty ,when I noticed that the spindle tacho. was not working .I know nothing about electronics , but I decided to pull the tacho .out , in the hope that it might be something simple like dust on contacts . It is just a matter of undoing four screws to remove the tacho. . When I went to remove it , I discovered that the connecting plug had come become disconnected , so I reconnected the plug , blew the dust out for good measure and refitted the tacho. . Problem solved , panic over .
I just present this in case someone has a similar problem .
