Its been a while since posting anything. Picked up a small bit of driftwood at beach. Camphor with what i think is water stain. Sanded to 1200. Tung oil. EEE and wax.365671365679

How many coats of Tung oil? How long did you wait for it to dry or cure?

Didnt wait to cure. Sanded. Oiled and removed excess, wiped as dry as could get it. Eee. Wax. Will see if any problems arise.....unsure of risks with this approach re oil not cured.

Fair enough.
I have been meaning to try and finish a couple more projects in Tung oil just not gotten around to it.

Ive used it a fair bit. Multiple coats each fully cured and buffed produce a nice finish, i reckon. On a few pieces ive done a lot, sometimes witj great result. Key for me has been leave it on for 5 to 15 minutrs before wiping excess, cure times vary greatly on weather, but never quicker than days.
