Hi guys,
I made this box for my grandaughter for a xmas
present, red mallee burl i think, sanded with D.O.
to 800grit , eee and glow!
any comments and advice welcome as always:U

Some of your oak burrs / burls are stunning in your part of the world. There are others I have seen but can't remember their species, maybe they just aren't as common as our burls over here

The colours seem to be off - is the background supposed to be grey or white? It seems purple on the photos.

Hi llya,
The background is light blue, but I had a blue
fluro on above, the first photo Is probably true
not sure what happened to the other two

I didn, t have a silver one...:U.so I matched the grain
in the black insert with gold,can, t really see in the
photo but It looks ok! this one is just a test run
grandaughter is only 10 so hopefully she likes it!

Hi jeff,
Always good to finish off a nice piece of burl
and see It pop when the finish goes on,
this piece of burl was too small for a bowl
so I thought It would make a nice box
