Turning a pool cue

One of my (lesser) hobbies is playing pool, and I would like to try my hand at turning a pool cue. Does anyone know where I can find:

Materials (ferrules, tips, connectors etc); and

Thanks Dave, that looks like a pretty good starting point. As far as materials go, I guess I should just have a browse through the Yellow Pages to find billiards suppliers. I'm sure they could point me in the right direction...
