Triton or GMC Biscuit Jointer?

G'day All,

Sorry for the double post here and in the General Woodwork section, I am hoping for some quick answers. I'll see if I can get a concesnous here before tomorrow comes around http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/smile.gif

Long version later, but the short version is I have come into a little very unexpected money and I am off tomorrow to get me some Triton gear *hooray*.

Now I am getting the Triton Router table regardless, what I want to know is should I get the Triton Biscuit Jointer to go with it, orrrrr should I spend a little more and get the seperate GMC Biscuit Jointer which seems to get good reviews?

I originally bought a Triton biscuit joiner, and whilst I think it offers good entry level value for money, I would recommend a hand held biscuit joiner. After using the Triton unit I ended up buying a Porter Cable.

I found the Triton was just a bit awkward to use, in regards to the "tool" being stationary and the workpiece needing to be swung into the cutterhead. This can be a pain if you're using large or long workpieces (such as you do in casework).

Overall I think the Triton has some deficiencies (such as not being able to slot the middle of a panel) that make it o.k for an entry level unit, but something that you'll grow out of very quickly.
