Hi guys/gals,
I'm looking to buy a lathe at the WWW show in Melbourne next month and am tossing up between the Nova 3000 with variable speed motor and the Jet 1442 with variable speed motor. I know it's probably like asking whether to buy a Holden or a Ford, but any experiences had with either lathe (good or bad) including support from dealers would be appreciated. If you don't want to post anything that may be considered libelous you can send me a PM http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon12.gif.
Cheers
GJ

Hang the expense, give the cat another canary, buy both & then you can tell us. :D

I have a Vicmarc & a JET in lathes. The Vicmarc is better quality thant the jet but it's also bigger & 8 times the price.

I have Vicmarc, Bonham, Chinese noname & Teknatool chucks.
I like the Teknatool chucks the best just 'cos they don't go rusty like the other ones do.
