glue for hardwood

Hi,
Could someone advise if Selleys PVA+ exterior is suitable to use to glue hardwood.The timber is 75 by 25 brown and came from a demo yard.
It is for a chair and will be used to glue spacers between leg slats.
Should have asked this question last night when I asked about timber for the chair .

should work fine , chair doctor is pretty good too , it can be seperated at a later date if need be for disassembly .
