Turned out this one got first place and the burl one got third
I was on holiday for 3 weeks when i made this one and spent
alot of time trying to get it right .......the burl one was made in
a bit of a rush job ,,,,,,

Well done getting first place!. Gotta be happy with that.
Wondering if this is a functional item or more a decorative one?
What material are the metal rods?.
Also what is going on, on the underside of the lid it looks very interesting?.

I liked it FYI it could have gone in the lidded container section

Yeah Smiife, what did you do to that nut? Or, did you find one already made that way. Looks like a flower....... Great job on it all. Thanks for the pictures. ............ Jerry (in Tucson)

Hi AB, yeah, It was only decorative, I don, t think it would hold water:U
The metal pins are cut from a 6mm aliminum rod from bunnies and
Polished up with fine sandpaper , the underside of the lid is chatterwork
with gold paint applied and wiped off while still wet.
Thanks for comments , and yes very happy with outcome , did not think
I would have got a first prize :o

Thanks mick , appreciate your comments , I wasn, t sure
which section to put it in , lidded box or vase !
