Hi guys , trying something a bit different today , needed
A threaded insert , so thought i might try turning some
Alimininum rod , started off a bit rough but got there in the end:C
Any comments and advice welcome

But don't you have any friends with a metal lathe?

That looks pretty good, Smiife. The polished aluminum looks quite professional.. What is the secret you've hidden from us on threading the piece? ............. Jerry (in Tucson) USA

No, I just wanted to try and do It on my lathe , a bit of a
challenge I suppose, really no different to turning wood:o

Hi jerry , thanks for your comments , no secret mate !
I just turned It the same as turning wood , just spent
more time at the grinder , :doh: the threads i hand chased
Just got to work on the male threads now ! And a top/handle
for the lid......
