After a 12 year break from turning I'm back into it again. I thought it might be difficult after such a long time but it wasn't as hard as I thought. Sharpening the chisels is another story though and I can see the metal disappearing, might have to get a jig. I have attached the first 2 bowls I have tried in this new phase.

both great but really really like the one on my right! I have some tulip wood that I might be able to do something similar with:)

The one on the right is Sassafras, not sure what the other one is. They are both finished in Shellawax which is also 12 years old. The photo dosen't do justice to the one on the left, it is all an even red colour and has a silky type feel when you hold onto it and is a fine grain.

Great looking bowls!!:2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

I am a bit confused:?:?. On my screen the flatter of the two looks like sassafras.

What ids the pinkish coloured one?

Yep, the flatter one on the right on screen is the Sassafras.
