Gday Lathe workers!

Got told to try here instead of general woodworking thread :D

About to start work on a pool cue, specifically a 9-ball cue. Dont know where to start and need some help before I botch my timber :p

I have 2" square blanks of Ebony and Purpleheart that I need to splice together if anyone knows a technique or website/books where I can find the answer.

I have Ivory i need to inlay into the timber above and am unsure as to how I go about that. was thinking it must be done after turning maybe but unsure.

I also know nothing about the fittings joints and whatnot just what I want the end product to look like ha!

Reading through this website I noticed so many skillfull craftsmen and was hoping I might find someone to help me here :)

Thanks in advance for any information I recieve

For laminating the cue see this thread, it is exactly the same principle.
