hi
I have a large heap of short thin around 20-30mm thick pieces of drifferent wood could I glue these all together if so what type of glue should I use

Yes, it's called Segmented Turning and a search of these forums will give you quite a bit of info and examples of the subject. :)

PVA'll do but isn't waterproof, a good epoxy is better.

Hey T,

I use titebond yellow wood working glue water resistant one, some could use a 2-pack resin depends on preference. If you go by the way of wood glue put a thin coat on each piece and slide them back and forward a few times and you should feel them grab. Bring them into the position you need and clamp if required. If you have to glue any end grain mix glue/water 50/50 and paint onto the end grain. It acts as a sealer for the end grain, then apply the glue in the same way. If you apply glue straight onto end grain can tend to suck the glue into the timber and create a weakened joint.

you can glue them together with the cheepest vinyle glue you could fine. It works beautifully
