I'm looking into purchasing a set of lathe cutting tools for my husband for Father's day. Can anyone tell me what a good brand of lathe cuttings that I can look for and an approximate price of a set? Thank you.:)

Off the top of my head, Hamlet, Henry Taylor, P&N for the basic tools, Robert Sorby, Munro or Kelton for the more... "exotic" tools.

Expect to pay some serious $$$ for good HSS tools though. :( To give you an idea of pricing, go to http://www.leevalley.com, hit the WOODWORKING tab and look under "turning."
