I have a Hattersley & Davidson 6 in i, came with the lathe, and took a week to learn how to put it together as no instructions provided;and I can use 2 functions only. Its from Sheffield looks well made, and the jaws expand beautifully, if set up correctly. It has a tolerance of about 3mm, so overcutting the groove is fatal. Has anyone else got one? Looks old.
BTW I have been experimenting, trying to turn salad servers, fiendishly hard to make the spoon,(my shelf is littered with seconds) and have a knurl on the handle, any ideas, or references, I cannot find a pattern on the web, on in the journals.

Sounds like the way to go, it looks rather nice on the desk, at work as a paperweight, and the patients ask after it, and woodturners are immediately identified, great rapport established in seconds, brilliant thought, thanks!

Close, but Harley Davidson are American, and the bike looks like it too, great overbuilt chunk of metal, now in Lathes, that is an advantage, 'cos wedont move at 100 kph!
Seriously though, has anyone a method for turning lagge salad servers?

Ye Gods and little fishes, I was only rearranging and trying to clean up and took some piccys.
We are actually looking at a property near the illustrious , complete with 30 x 15 METRE shed. 10m high, could be the go, trouble is that daughters think it would make a great menage http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/frown.gif
Make a nice little workshop with room for a new Triton, no Stoppers, not the BBBL http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/biggrin.gif

Iain. I'm Ashamed of you! ( It is kick a man when he's down day!)
Every horseman knows that it is a Manege not a Menage!
Doorstop, thats Bugger not Buggear. Or is this some strange Coonawarren word induced by the affluence of red inkahol?
