Biscuit Jointer Safety

Sorry folks the url didn't link.

Basically the gist of the topic was about a bloke who went close to severing a portion of a finger which required surgery.
It appears that he was trying to rush a job and trying to cut slots before the machine came up to speed with the result of the machine being 'thrown from contact'and slicing the finger.

In a nutshell it is of the utmost importance that the machine is up to speed before attempting to cut the slot(s).

NEVER under any circumstances hold the machine against the timber and then start it.
You're only begging for trouble if you do.

I guess the 'moral' here is "whats the bloody rush"
