Here it is men, my first post.

7 months of my life went into this King Sized Four Poster bed, many tears and a lttle blood.

Solid Rosewood. 105x105 posts, 1200 foot and 1600 head. 180x45 rails all round and the head is 650 high, 1900 long and 60 thick. Blanket rail is 70x70, 1900. Two men to lift the head alone.

Any thoughts? Even if you had the money, you'd struggle to get the 1.7m lengths for the legs. Not sure what its worth, but it must be a lot.

Great work, really like the 'scroll' on the foot end.

What sort of rosewood, do you know?
I hope you never have to put the bed in a small room - that would detract from it.

105 x 105 posts - :eek: two men to lift the bed head, indeed!

Magnificent bed - beautifully done.:D:D:D You must be around the North coast somewhere to find Rosewood like that??? Always intended to do something similar but I doubt that it would fit in my bedroom.
Welcome to the forum and keep the pictures coming!:)

Thanks to all for the encouraging words, I'm pretty proud of the finished product - for a primary school teacher.
Clinton1 - I believe it is all NSW Rosewood;
TTIT - good guess, I'm in Newcastle and the timber was sourced from a good man on the mid north coast.
