Does anyone know if he will be exhibiting the jig at the Melbourne Working with Wood Show in October. If so, does he offer the jig at a reduced price to normal; ie is it worth waiting to buy it direct from the show?
Cheers,
Gazza http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/cool.gif

Yes, they will be at the Melbourne show, stand number 80. Just received an email from Jenny Gifkin and there will be a show special.
Methinks she has been watching this post as I did not ask about a show special but I would like to see one working.(jig)
By the way Gaz, did you get my emails?
Might see some of you at the show as I intend going this year, Watching Tom Manly?, I usually manage to run into you there, God knows I try to avoid you http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/wink.gif http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/wink.gif

I recently used the Gifkins Jig for the first time a couple of weeks ago.I was extremly impressed with the results.
the jig was very easy to use and produced absolutly perfect dovetails within minutes.
there was no tedius setting up and trial/error cuts required,it just worked beautifully straight out of the box.Highly recommended!!!!

Welcome aboard Bruce and thankyou for your comments on the Gifkins jig, I intend to look at one at the working with wood in Melbourne late Oct.
We look forward to your contributions and Neil will buy coffee for all new members who attend the working with wood show http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/wink.gif
I must ask though after looking at your profile, what bait do you use to catch Spearfish?

Would have to be "Come-in-spinner" wouldn't it???

Neil is as tight as they come, there's no way he will be buying anyone a cup of coffee. Unless you want to use his cup and go for a refill of the bottomless cup.

Now listen you blokes.

GET IT RIGHT!!! It's Doorstop who's there to hold my hand. just comes along to watch. (Kinky eh?) http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/eek.gif

Beaut....... Well she's there to bring a little sanity to the proceedings. http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/rolleyes.gif

For the freeloader coffee adicts:
We will all be going out to Chachi's Mexican Resteraunt Saturday night and any of you who would like to attend will be most welcome (so long as you don't still expect free coffee). Let us know in the next few weeks so we can book. Then not only will this posting be a hot topic but the night out will also.

There are already about 14 going.

PS only drinks tea so don't expect him to make coffee. http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/tongue.gif

Now if no one has anymore to say on the subject of Melb WWW Show what about getting back to the Gifkin jig.

Yeah, get back to the topic you blokes!

Now, this Gifkin fellow, will he be serving coffee?

Iain
14th September 2000, 02:25 PM
Might go to Chachi's and bring my other half along, will confirm, Neil, with an Email. To you or someone else?
Gifkins Coffee, Dovetails whatever, going back.
Have you ever noticed the shape of corn chips, could they be used as a template for cutting dovetails? Are Mexican dovetails back to front? I have heard it said that Mexicans have refried beans because they can never get right first time.
