Hi - thought I'd better introduce myself as I'm new to the list and I'm the guy behind the APToolParts.com site. (Thanks for the mention, John).

Lest this slip into prohibited advertising let me just say that I'll be adding us to U-Beaut's Commercial Sites area soon. Meantime anyone who wants to drop in and have a look at the website catalogue will find there's a fair bit there - over 900 Carb-I-Tool products listed with full specs, drawings, etc. At this time it is primarily an export venture but we explain how to order within Oz - and an all-Aussie version is coming soon. Please feel free to contact me directly with any queries. Happy routing! Stuart

Hi Stuart, does Carbi-tool open their factory to the public for viewing of the production process.

I mention this in the view that many of us may or would like an opportunity to see a router bit in process.

This could have been e-mailed to you but out of interest if your answer is posted here then you gain a wider interest.

Hi John Carb-I-Tool dont open the factory to the public in general. We have at times had various woodworking groups spend an evening with us and we run them through the factory and what goes into making a router bit. Hope this answers the question

APTools.com (http://www.ubeaut.com.au/comm1.htm) link is now on our site. This one will take you to their dedicated Aussie site and price list which will be up soon.

Cheers - Neil

Yes, Carb-I-Tool factory tours can be arranged if there is a large or sufficiently motivated group. Usually that means established woodworking clubs or similar. If there were the numbers in it I would be happy to arrange a tour but I suspect that clubs are the best way to get the numbers mustered.

G'day Stuart,
Had a look at your site. Looks pretty good too.
But why are the prices in $US? It makes them a bit expensive!

Dod, There is now a fully-Australian site. Either follow the link at the top of U-Beaut's Suppliers page, use this link: http://www.aptoolparts.com/index_au.htmlor follow the "Australian site" links on our site's main (international) pages.

The website was originally in US $ because our first target was an international audience. There was quite a lot of work to put almost 1,000 Carb-I-Tool router-related items on the Web, so it took some more time to get the Australian sections up.

In terms of pricing remember that "not all router bits are equal". You usually get what you pay for. Carb-I-Tool is a premium industrial grade product made to last longer under the most demanding tasks. However we'll do what we can to make them more affordable to non-industrial users - quantity discounts, delivery is free, and selected monthly specials will begin in June.
