I have a Hitachi TR12 router which remains table mounted as I think it heavy for Accurate work when handheld.
As a handheld i have a 1400w Skil (made in USA) but find the hole too big when closing in on a corner etc, could easily take a 60mm diameter bit, but that is highly unlikely as the machine is only 6mm collet and only smaller bits (up to 30mm) are being use.
Do you lose to much depth of cut with the use of the Vermont American perspex base ( would love to have a base that would bolt into the holes on the main plate.
Thanks Arthur
