Do you have a wood in Australia called carrotwood? Am just trying to track down what a "real" name might be. Got some here in California to turn, but since it was a "volunteer" tree, can't find anyone who has heard of it before. Kind of tight grain, a little like boxwood, with milky-yellow color.

And no rabbit jokes!! http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/biggrin.gif: (or is that rabbet??)

Thanks, Phyllis

Carrotwood is Cupaniopsis anacardioides, an Australian native that has become a pest in Florida after being imported as a landscape tree. http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/smile.gif

Gee, a pest in Florida?? http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/rolleyes.gif Well, carrotwood has finally made its way to California, in the "turning blank" area anyway..

Thanks, Brian, my turning class is "proud" of me for finding out the answer... http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/wink.gif
