Hi All

Thought I would throw a link to the Festtol section of woodshopdemos. If you have been around here for a while I am sure you would have already seen this site as there have been links to other sections of the site http://woodshopdemos.com/men-fes.htm (http://woodshopdemos.com/men-fes.htm)

most of it is pretty standard especially if you have been around the traps for long enough but I`m still fairly new to Festool and especially liked a couple of the fixes he has come up with..

such as stopping the angle guide from slipping http://woodshopdemos.com/fes-au-1.htm (http://woodshopdemos.com/fes-au-1.htm)

and the MDF straight edge/clamp http://www.woodshopdemos.com/fes-31.htm

As I said nothing spectacular but worth a trawl through his projects to see how someone else has done things and to avoid making somebody else's mistakes.. I find I'm capable enough of making my own why bother duplicating anothers..:p

another site I have happened across is http://www.festoolusa.com/woodworking.aspx (http://www.festoolusa.com/woodworking.aspx) that also has some helpful stuff on it.. infact that's where i found woodshopdemo.

hope this will be of some interest to someone

Andrew

Another page I like on John Lucas's site, Workshop Demos, is Bob Marino's demonstration of preparing two long boards for jointing using the Festool TS-55 plunge cut saw and guide rail - http://woodshopdemos.com/fes-53.htm

Hi all,

O.K Anthony, I'm impressed. I'm currently thinking of buying a jointer, but if you've seen my 'shop, (which is already a Tardis)... The other thing is that since I often use 240-290mm boards, I would need a 300mm jointer bed, which usually entails 3 phase power or a dedicated 15A plug. So what can you do for me on a plunge saw??? as if I didn't really know.

One other thing, the off cuts could possibly be used as "species specific" dominos! But you didn't want to hear that.

Regards,

Rob.

Well you're not freaking me out that much, I like the shop made, species specific domino ideas. Displaying the domino's as a feature of the workpiece gives the DOMINO machine and it's owner even more strings to their bows.

I have not yet tried Bob's board jointing technique as yet, I would like to. I might take you up on the visit to your workshop to see your Leigh FMT, and we could try Bob's technique as well if I bring a TS-55 and guide rails. Post me an email to discuss further if you wish.
