I have the Triton RTA300 router table fitted to my 2000 workcentre and in pushing timber past my cutter the beginning of the rear fence frequently fouls the workpiece.

I chamferred off the leading edge but subsequently I have found that when placing a straight edge along the entire fence there is a 1 mm gap at centre area (the fence is therefore concave)

Should I pack out the MDF at fence near cutter or should I attempt to sand off the MDF at front and rear ends bearing in mind the packing up idea will introduce complications when setting fence up for planeing type cuts.

Hey there,

Are the actual metal fence uprights concave or is it the MDF itself?
If the MDF, you can easily replace it.
Also, check that you can't loosen the spring loaded bolts holding the MDF fence closer to the cutter.. Maybe these are a bit tighter than the outer ones causing the concave fence?

I had the same problem with my first cut on my new RTA300 and then I remembered to move the MDF in as close as possible to the cutter. Presto ! no more problems.:D
