Another one.....

I have rough-turned a few items, and now they are totally dry.

I have an oval wane-edged bowl, out of Curly Jarrah. I need some opinions.

What should the wall thickness be? Use the poll.

It is 260x140mm at its highest and widest point.

Here are the photos. And yes, I can get a much better tool-finish. That was just roughing it out. I'll now get some nice mirror cuts on it.

Here are 2 photos. They are smaller, in consideration for our dial-up friends.

I have put 2 photos of a pot I am on. Any ideas on anything to make it a little more....different, attractive? I sold a pot identical to this one, not to long ago, only it was smaller. $200, and it went to Sweden.

it is 210x180mm at its highest and widest point.

I just put this on, for some ideas.

Any ideas?:)

P.S Would anyone object if I did a WIP on a bowl, so then you guys could see how I do it, and then help me improve.

I reckon somewhere about 12 to 15mm thick, thats if the bowl is around the 200 to 300mm dia. If under 200mm 8 to 10mm thick
I find that if you go to thin on the natural edge bowls they just don't look right

Whoops, forgot the dimensions.

260x140mm

210x180mm

These are at their widest and highest points

I'd be pleased to watch your WIP, but I doubt I could 'advise' you. Pictures of the piece alone will not really draw comment, I think, therefore, you will need to supply fairly precise commentary on how, when, and why.

soth:)

Ok, if I did do one, I would take a lot of photos, starting from putting the block on the lathe, to finishing. Have comments all through, and in the end, the "hexperts" can comment.

Just give you guys a tour on how I do it.

Something like skews goblet thread, but I won't be teaching you:)

Ideas??
