Pen turning

Have read the pen turning secrets as I have suffered a similar problem, however I have an additional issue in that I now have a brass tube stuck below the tread on my mandrel. I expect that I will have to cut the tube off but would appreciate any better ideas on how to get it off without destroying it.

What is it stuck on with?
If it's C.A. which is somewhat brittle,take a piece of hardwood and catch the end edge of the tube,then give it a rap or two or three with a mallet,that should break the C.A.
