I recently converted a woodfast (same as the "bowl lathe" this person is flogging) to single phase.. under $200 for a motor and I now have a very strong 1 1/2 horse lathe.

nothing to do with me... just looked to good not to post.

Hey Stirlo,

did you see the Pickles auction advertised for Kariong this weekend? There's some Woodfast lathes, bandsaws, etc. etc.

The fact that it's at the Juvenile Correction Centre shouldn't deter you (you're the *nice* 14 y.o.:D )

Kariong's close-ish for you, compared to a lot of other places...

Cheers,
Andrew

The woodfast lathes were removed from ebay, not sold, just removed by seller. He/she may have found out that they were worth more???

Cheers, Steve

not always.. a while ago I purchased some gear after contacting a seller and going to look at the machines. a cash deal on the spot and he ended the ebay sale early.

I'll do it again for anything pricey and second hand.. a face to face deal will always beat an online auction imho.

Maybe so, just that eBay had a message on the items saying "have been removed from sale by seller". I had them in my "Watch this item", and got that message.

Cheers, Steve

Another one... melbourne. nothing to do with me.

C1000, I've had one of these for a few weeks.. very nice, slight problem with the pulley on the motor causing vibration didnt seem to bother the turner who had it b4 me and it was easily fixed.

only other drama I have with it is there is no provision for a brake wheel on the left hand side of the head stock... so if you're impatient... its grab the blank or wait.
