View Full Version : overhead routing using 2000 workcentre

I attempted to rout some small pieces of timber (10x10") stopped trenches etc. but came unstuck using above setup.
The work shifted slightly on the table (I did have an under chipboard sheet covering the whole table.)
I screwed blocks arond the 3 blank sides.

Have any members tried these under fabric sheets with the overhead workcente setup? Does it work.

Any advice gratefully received.

Howdy,

I have found when overhead routing that you need to clamp small pieces dwn to the table or to your raised sheets.

I have only routed laarges pieces so far in overhead mode, so I have been able to easily clamp them to the table and the overhead system has been excellent!

Smaller pieces are a little harder to clamp down unless you have some of those extra long/wise face clamps.

You could perhaps buy some hold down clamps that screw onto a surface and make some kind of fake table with hold downs inplemented into it for smaller pieces?
