I'm doing a coffee table for commercial use. The top is in silver ash with nthn. silky oak features. I'm looking for a low-sheen oiled finish that won't yellow the silver ash or darken it with age. The silky oak is very absorbtive compared to the silver ash. Any suggestions please.

Dear Alex,
You could try ORGANOIL's Hard Burnishing Oil using their suggested "wet on wet" sanding technique and finsh with their Woodsheen oil. This will give you a hard wearing surface for the table top that wont deepen the natural timber colour too much. The alternative would be to use the Woodsheen Oil only, this will give you a pale translucent finish that will buff to a satin patina.
