I remember one job that I worked on when I was just an apprentice. It was a huge slab table made by the customer for whom we were polishing the table for. It was made entirely from large slabs of Mackay Cedar, about 3 1/2" thick. We polished this sucker till we couldn't polish no more. It was a lot of work but looked an absolute treat when finished. Two men could just lift the mongrol off the ground...
Anyway, we loaded it onto the ute to deliver back to the anxious customer. As usual we loaded it top down on a furniture blanket. Unfortunately this table was too long for the tray so we left the sides off and my then boss decided it was so heavy it would just stay on the back without ropes..... Mmmmm
Well needless to say two cornors latter and we wondered why the ute wasn't struggling to drive, well we looked behind to see the table sliding down the bitumen road top first!! It just slid off when the ute accelerated http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/smile.gif Oh you can laugh now!! Lucky it was soooooo thick, it took a lot of sanding but we managed to remove all scratchs and gouges and repolished to perfection again, yep it got delivered alright the second time http://ubb.ubeaut.com.au/ubb/smile.gif
