Had a bit of red malle burl scrap left over from a bowl I made, so I threw it on the lathe and made this potpourri bowl.

Should make a nice gift for a mum or grandma. Quick and easy to make as well.

My mum always said not to wear checks & stripes &/or dots. :rolleyes:
The timber is figured so the insert should be plain. :wink:

Hey guys, its finished with Shellawax cream. I got the lid at a small woodworking show in Kiama on the weekend.

Now that is a very nice pot pouri bowl.

What do you use in your finishing to help the keep the colour fast, my red mallee bowls turned in the past quickly turn from red to very dark red almost black.
