probably should be held back until our Spring - but whatever - it is called Spring Bud.

Again, Australian Red Cedar.

Lovely piece Tony. This is the true art sculpted freeflowing style that I appreciate from your work.

Very, very nice, how many hours did you put into this one, especially sanding the finish

Tony,
That was my favourite:2tsup:, unfortunately it only came in third in the Decorative Wood section, behind a magnificent harp guitar and an intarsia sea eagle.

Maybe next year a seperate box section.

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement,

Come on Bill, stop thinking inside the square, you can do it!

Bloody beautiful, Tony, a masterpiece of craftsmanship.

Do you have any tips on finishing the inside of the narrow cuts? I have trouble with these particularly where they narrow to bugger all. Any special tools that help?

Kind regards,

Barrie

Barrie

Time spent fine sanding the exterior = 35%
Time spent fine sanding the interior = 65%

The special device used to fine sand the interior is an Australian invention

sanding paper attached to a metal ruler (I prefer Velcros backed paper, but you can either use pre-glued paper, or attach the paper by using double sided tape.)

Electric knife works as well.

Thanks Tony, I think I spend more time proportionally on the inside stuff! Just part of the game I suppose, no real short cuts to a fine finish.

The electric knife sounds like it is worth a try ptc, I think there is an old one around somewhere, I'll give it a go. Many thanks for your tip.

Kind regards,

Barrie
