There's a video called "Son of Skew" which claims you can make a number of projects with just the humble skew, anyone seen it and if so what are your thoughts? You can have a look at http://www.alanlacer.com/Videos.html

Here in the land of the seppo :D
Lacer is regarded highly as a turner. I have not seen either skew dvd but
own one by him more oriented toward the beginner titled "Getting started right".
He shows and discusses many areas of interest to the novice.
One thing I found most interesting was that he demontrated working
historical lathes from the backtime, i.e., foot treadle, springpole, etc.
For me that was worth the price of admission.
There is the first one called The Skew the Darkside & the Sweet Side
and the sequel is called Son of Skew.
If I dont buy them eventually I'll try my turning society's video library and
borrow them for viewing.
Your countryman Richard Raffan is also very skilled with a skew.
You might want to see him putting it through its paces as well.
