Just had a customer in who makes home movies on her Toshiba laptop & burns them to DVD using Intervideo WinDVD Creator 2.

She had a problem in that the sound was no longer working in Intervideo WinDVD Creator 2 or Intervideo WinDVD player & she could no longer burn DVDs with Intervideo WinDVD Creator 2.

I also noted that the laptop was tending to lock up, usually when a dvd was put in the drive.

Long story short, after lots of questions about what had changed lately she mentioned that she had installed the latest version of Windows Media Player & even though she wasn't sure about it, she conceded that "maybe it hadn't worked properly since then."

I removed Intervideo WinDVD Creator 2 & reloaded it from the original CD.

Problem fixed.
Intervideo WinDVD Creator 2 can now see the burner again & has sound.
Intervideo WinDVD player also has it sound back.

The bonus (bit of luck) is the latest version of Windows Media Player still works. :;

This may help somebody else who has just updated to the latest version of Windows Media Player.
