Recipes for wax & revivers

I'm always on the lookout for new recipes for wax's & revivers....do you have any fav one's to share ? I'll post mine when I get my act together & bring em home from my workshop.

Reviver for old finishes, equal parts of Methylated spirit, white vinegar and boiled linseed oil. Apply with a rubber very gently so as not to remove the original finish. Works well but smells dreadful.
As you are a wine buff (profile) I would not suggest trying it at a tasting although it may provoke some interesting conversation.
Must add, rubber, cloth for applying finish, not contaceptive device as suggested on an American forum.

Hmmm, I'll stick to the red wine & will also aviod sticky situations with rubbers !

A fav reviver of mine is 1 part raw linseed, 1 part vinegar(I use cleaning vinegar)1 part pure gum turps, 1/4 part meths....increase the meths for more cleaning action. I usually apply with 0000 steel wool, then apply a wax to finish off. Make sure all traces of oil is removed prior to waxing.

A book by Michael Bennett has some great recipies also, it's called "Discovering & Restoring Antique Furniture"

As for my own worn out condition, a good robust shiraz does wonders !!

At least you are talking rubbers (blokey Australian) and not tampons (US and other sissy places).
Speaking of tampons. Won't someone please bring back those pure and wholesome, good old blokey, cigarette adds, to telly. PS Chuck the pure turps away and use petro-pine (mineral turps) it is better for your health. Pure cidar vinegar is the best to use for this application.
