Hi

Perspex and lexan can be sucessfully cut on a table saw.
Use a fine tooth blade and set the height to maximum.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CUT IT WITH MINIMUM BLADE HEIGHT.

When you cut with minimum blade height it tends to cut accross the surface where as at max height it cuts on a downwards motion.

Perspex can also be cut with the "score and snap" method.
Use a sharp metal blade (screw driver, scriber) to score the surface and snap away from the score. This often ends up with a chipped edge. This method does not work with lexan.

The best way is to cut both is with a bandsaw.

To drill both of them, the best drill to use is one which has had the "edge ground off". This is a drill that has had the cutting edge touched on a grinding wheel to make it blunt. For small holes you can usually get by with normal drills. However large holes or drilling close to the edge can result in the job being destroyed and thrown in your face.

Perspex and lexan machine very well with a router. And both can be formed by heating and bending etc.

To get a quick polished edge on perspex you can run a blow-torch CAREFULLY along the edge to melt the edge.

Hope this helps,

Glen
