Spray nozzles

Is there a need to apply different nozzles for applying varying finishe's.
As most appliances use an adjustment with mixture of air and finish adjustment to the product I was wondering upon seeing an Ad in an American WW mag for the variety of nozzles available and whether these complicate matters
