Here are some views of a black walnut burl bowl. As you see by the pic of the orininal, it was formed around a protruding branch, so had a hole all the way through. I glued on a black walnut ring at the botom for a foot and went from there. Finished with EEE and Behlen's wood turning finish, followed by wax. I posted a pic of a pen made from an off cut . Height is 10 cm (4"") by 11.5 cm (4.5") dia at the top.
