I have seen a few positive reports about the beadlock system but has anyone out there had a bad experience or found that it does not measure up to expectations. I know some may think it poor value for money.

I have used the Beadlock for a few months now and have been quite happy. The biggest problem that I have had is that the stock that comes with it can be a little variable, the first lot was over tight. The other problem is that Carbatec is hopeless with keeping up stock levels.
I now keep enough beadlock stock on hand to last me for at least the next two jobs or else find myself stranded with Carbatec not supplying stock.

Matk,

Check out our review of the beadock on www.onlinetoolreviews.com

Suresh, the same review also now contains a mini-review addition of the beadlock router bits for making your own tenon stock. You might want to look into getting some of those :)

I have also been looking at the Beadlock system and did some searching about on the net and found that if you have any contacts in the US you can get it thru amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com) for about US$46 and with the AUD$ having a few balls at the moment equates to about AUD$70 which is virtually 1/2 price to what we pay here.
The only problem with amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com) is that they don't ship tools to Oz - hence if you have any contacts in the States you can have it shipped for free to there and then pay the postage yourself to be sent from the US to Oz.
The Bits though are dearer than we can buy here in Oz.
